Atalanta centre-back Berat Djimsiti suffered a forearm fracture during Albania’s match against Hungary in the World Cup Qualifiers and faces a month out of action.

Sky Sport Italia reports Djimsiti, who lasted only 30 minutes of the Qualifier for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, had to come off due to a forearm fracture.

It remains to be seen what type of fracture the Orobici defender has suffered, but the broadcaster claims he will be out for at least one month.

The player will return to Bergamo within the next few hours, where he will carry out further checks and will most likely undergo surgery as soon as possible.

Gian Piero Gasperini lost Rafael Toloi, Robin Gosens and Matteo Pessina to injuries recently and the news regarding Djimsiti comes as a further blow for the Atalanta coach.

Djimsiti has played all games so far this term, as he has played seven times in Serie A and has been in the line-up for both Champions League games in 2021-22.
