Atalanta are the fourth team in history to have five different goalscorers in the same European Championship, as Serie A match the Premier League’s record of goals from 2016.

Five Orobici players have scored at EURO 2020, the fourth time it has happened in the same European Championship after Real Madrid in 2012, Barcelona in 2000 and Anderlecht in 1984.

And the Italian League has equalled the 30 goals of the English Premier League in the 2016 edition.

After the third evening of the last 16, history is ready to be rewritten, with Mario Pasalic and Alvaro Morata scoring the 29th and 30th goal from Serie A players in this year’s competition.

And Croatia international Pasalic’s goal against Spain was the fifth time one of Gian Piero Gasperini’s players at Atalanta scored at EURO 2020, with still nine games left to play.

The European Championship is reminding everyone of the recent success in Bergamo as Italy midfielder Matteo Pessina scored against Wales and Austria, Ukraine star Aleksey Miranchuk scored against Finland, with Joakim Maehle scoring when Denmark won over Russia and Wales, whilst Robin Gosens scored for Germany against Portugal in Group F.

As mentioned, this is the fourth time in history that one club has five different goalscorers at the same European Championship.

If Ruslan Malinovskyi, Remo Freuler or Rafael Toloi score, the Orobici would remain engraved in the history of the UEFA competition.
