Atalanta beaten by Gattuso’s Valencia

Gennaro Gattuso’s Valencia won the pre-season Trofeo Taronja by beating Atalanta 2-1 with a Hugo Duro brace cancelling out Ederson’s equaliser.

The traditional summer clash at the Mestalla saw Atalanta invited as opponents.

Luis Muriel’s free kick skimmed the woodwork and the crossbar saved Rafael Toloi from what would’ve been an own goal for his deflection on Yunus Musah’s effort.

Hugo Duro got both goals for Valencia on the night, interrupted by a temporary and spectacular equaliser from Ederson.

Juan Musso was kept busy in goal with saves on Carlos Soler and Samuel Lino.
