Atalanta are in talks with Chelsea to bring Davide Zappacosta back on loan after difficulties emerged with Roma and Rick Karsdorp.
They had been seemingly on the verge of completing the move for Karsdorp, but Sky Sport Italia claim that has run into problems regarding commissions.
Instead, La Dea are turning towards Chelsea for Zappacosta, who has just completed his loan spell at Roma.
It would be a comeback for the 28-year-old right-back, as he was already on Atalanta’s books from 2011 until his €4.3m sale to Torino in 2015.

Zappacosta went on to Chelsea for €25m in 2017, but struggled for playing time and dealt with injury problems.
Those continued even after his loan to Roma last summer, as he tore his anterior cruciate ligament in October 2019.
