Atalanta President Antonio Percassi has telephoned Milan C.E.O. Adriano Galliani to apologise for the racial abuse suffered by Kevin Constant yesterday.

The Rossoneri player had bananas thrown at him by La Dea fans during yesterday’s match between the sides, which ended in a 2-1 victory for the Bergamo outfit.

In a statement on their official website, the club said that Galliani has accepted the apology and that Percassi would also be telephoning Constant personally.

“The President Antonio Percassi personally telephoned Milan C.E.O. Adriano Galliani to pass on the club’s official apologies for what happened during the Atalanta-Milan match yesterday,” it reads.

“The conversation was very cordial and Galliani, who accepted the apologies, underlined that what happened was an isolated incident.

“Antonio Percassi will telephone the player Constant in order to officially apologise to him as well.”
