Milan need a new striker to replace Olivier Giroud and the latest candidate is Aston Villa centre-forward Ollie Watkins.

It is well known that Giroud is set to leave San Siro as a free agent and join LAFC in MLS from the summer, so a new hitman is required.

According to Calciomercato.it, the Rossoneri have set their sights on Watkins, who has impressed with 26 goals and 12 assists in 48 competitive games for Aston Villa this season.

He only recently signed a new contract to June 2028 and is already 28 years old, so not quite the young profiles that Milan had been linked with before.

Watkins in form of his life

Watkins has started breaking into the England squad too and his price-tag could levitate if he does well at EURO 2024.

Arsenal have already been heavily linked and the asking price would be close to €80m, making it frankly an improbable deal for Milan.

They have had success with English players, as Fikayo Tomori and Ruben Loftus-Cheek have made a big splash in Serie A.
