According to reports in Italy, Aston Villa director Monchi has been visiting Juventus to discuss summer bids for Weston McKennie, Federico Chiesa and Matias Soule.

Juve transfer pundit Giovanni Albanese maintains that Monchi was in Turin on Thursday to meet with director Cristiano Giuntoli and they spoke about several different players who could be of interest to the Premier League side.

The main subject of the discussion was McKennie, who is not part of new Juventus coach Thiago Motta’s plans and with his contract running down will be sold this summer.

Other players were also talked over, including Italy international Chiesa and forward Soule, who spent this season on loan at Frosinone.

However, they are not immediate targets for Aston Villa, or rather would be unlikely to make such a transfer at this stage of their careers.

Monchi has experience in Serie A, as he was briefly the director of sport at Roma, so has visited Italy several times in recent months for negotiations over future options to keep under consideration.
