Juventus continue to push USMNT midfielder Weston McKennie towards the Premier League, with Aston Villa the latest club to show interest, but he is aiming higher.

There were already suggestions today in the Corriere dello Sport and Tuttosport that Bournemouth are ready to pay the €30-40m asking price.

However, the 24-year-old rejected the proposal and is holding out for a more prestigious club, such as Chelsea or Tottenham Hotspur.

Now Sky Sport Italia transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio insists that Aston Villa have joined the race and made an offer for the 2022 World Cup protagonist.

Juve are eager to cash in on the player who was signed from Schalke 04 for €25m in 2020.

His contract runs to June 2025 and he is considered surplus to requirements, as Fabio Miretti and Nicolò Fagioli are promoted from the youth academy.

It also means Juventus would not seek a replacement should McKennie be sold in January.

  1. Replacing him is easy. We have plenty of ball boys and they do far more running per game.
