José Mourinho admitted he was ‘ashamed’ of Roma players during the first half against Juventus, and stats reflect the Special One’s disappointment.
Mourinho said the Giallorossi were lucky to end the first half down to one goal at the Allianz Stadium yesterday and revealed he had told his players he was ‘ashamed of them’ during the half-time break at the Allianz Stadium.

The Old Lady had better passing accuracy (87% to 81%), while Roma lost possession 54 times against Juventus’ 48. The Bianconeri also won more duels than Roma players (25 to 23) and had more successful dribbling (50% to 25%).
Roma improved in the second half and managed to score through Tammy Abraham who netted his first goal this season, making the most of an acrobatic assist from Paulo Dybala.
Mourinho’s half-time speech produced the reaction the Special One wanted, but Mou always wants to keep the bar high. Therefore, he continued to taunt his players after the final whistle, even saying that Abraham played ‘a horrible game’ despite his goal.
Roma have seven points in the opening three Serie A games and host Monza at the Stadio Olimpico on Tuesday.
