While Javier Pastore signs for Elche, Roma might finally have found a buyer for Steven Nzonzi, as Al-Rayyan agree personal terms.
The Giallorossi are still trying to whittle down their oversized squad and director Tiago Pinto complained some players had refused to consider any proposals over the summer.
Pastore took a different approach and managed to terminate his contract by mutual consent, allowing the club to save on his salary.
The Argentina international has officially now signed for Spanish side Elche.
Meanwhile, there are reports in Qatar via Staddoha that Al-Rayyan have agreed personal terms with Nzonzi.
That is a huge bonus for Roma and it’s suggested the former Sevilla midfielder could fly out to Doha tomorrow in order to sign the contract.
The 32-year-old cost €26.6m to sign from Sevilla in 2018, but barely played for the club, going out on loan to Galatasaray and Rennes.
His contract runs to the end of the season, but he was left out of the side by Jose Mourinho throughout pre-season training.
