Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti sees ex-Roma forward Borja Mayoral as part of his plans for next season, according to reports.

The Spaniard spent 18 months at the Stadio Olimpico from October 2020 to January 2022 but then moved to LaLiga side Getafe on loan.

However, with Luka Jović seemingly set to join Fiorentina, AS report Ancelotti wants Mayoral at Madrid next season as a back-up to Karim Benzema.

Jović had that role last season but made just 15 LaLiga appearances and is expected to complete a move to La Viola, who are still looking for a Dusan Vlahovic replacement.

Mayoral made his Real Madrid debut in 2015 but spent time at Bundesliga side Wolfsburg and then Spain’s Levante before moving to Roma.

At the Stadio Olimpico, he made 56 appearances in all competitions, scoring 18 goals.

However, he failed to nail down a regular spot following the arrival of Tammy Abraham last summer and moved to Getafe on loan in January, where he has scored six goals in 18 appearances.
