Arthur put in a convincing performance in his Serie A debut with Fiorentina, helping the Tuscans seal a comfortable 4-1 win away at Genoa.

Fiorentina started off the new Serie A campaign on the right foot with an easy victory against newly promoted Genoa, coached by their ex-striker Alberto Gilardino.

The Brazilian played 90 minutes at Marassi and was praised by Italian media.

Giacomo Bonaventura was the MVP last night with one goal and one assist, but the ex-Liverpool loanee was among the best players on the pitch. He was rated 7/10 by Gazzetta and Il Corriere dello Sport and 6.5 by Il Corriere dello Sport.

All sports papers highlight that Arthur showed quality and personality in the middle of the park for the Tuscans.

The fact that he remained on the pitch for 90 minutes suggests he has put his physical issues behind him.

The ex-Barcelona star spent last season on loan at Liverpool but only made one appearance with the senior team, undergoing ankle surgery in October.

Arthur has joined Fiorentina on loan from Juventus and the Tuscans have an option to make his move permanent for €20m.
