Juventus midfielder Arthur Melo has returned from a ‘strange injury’ and vows to help push Inter in the Scudetto race. ‘It could still be a positive season’.

The 24-year-old has recently recovered from a leg injury that kept him out of big games in the Champions League and Serie A, but the Brazilian admitted he’s not 100 per cent yet.

“It was a strange injury, very unlucky,” Arthur told Sky Sport Italia. “But at the same time I’m lucky because I’m at a great club, with exceptional professionals and there’s also my personal team that helps me.

“They work together and have done everything to get me back to play as soon as possible. I’m already much better.

“There’s a lot of work, because I’m not at 100 per cent, but I have a great desire to help the coach and the team.

“I can help on the pitch and I’m doing my best with the doctors and physiotherapists to be at the top as soon as possible.”

Juventus were eliminated from the Champions League by FC Porto but are qualified for the Coppa Italia Final.

Despite the 10-point gap up to Inter in Serie A, Arthur also claimed the Old Lady have a chance to win a 10th consecutive title in Italy.

“It’s too early to judge the season, the championship is still open,” Arthur continued. “If we win the championship or we win the Coppa Italia, given that we are in the Final, it could be a positive season.

“The biggest goal was the Champions League, but we can’t try to win that anymore.

“We must look ahead and try to win all the games that remain, because all is not lost yet.”
