Fiorentina striker Arthur Cabral has backed his own ability in front of goal, claiming in a recent interview that if there’s anything he knows how to do well, ‘it’s to score.’

The Brazilian forward sat down with Serie A’s official media channels to discuss his experiences during his first season in Italy as well as to give an assessment on Fiorentina’s form over the course of the season.

The 25-year-old believes that he is more than capable of scoring when it matters for La Viola and feels that his strong performances in recent games have coincided with an upturn in form from the entire team.

“For me a goal is always a moment of happiness and pure enjoyment,” he said. “All the work pays off. If there is one thing I know how to do well in life, it is to score.

“I think my form coincides with the excellent performance of the team. We are doing better and better and we are also scoring plenty of goals. The more we win, the more our team improves in our way of playing.

“I’m growing at the same pace as the team. Before, it took me a while to adapt, but now I see the results of my work. I’ve been at Fiorentina for almost a year now and I’ve always said that my goal is to keep improving and I think that’s what’s happening.I hope to continue growing to help the team even more.”

Under Vincenzo Italiano this season, Fiorentina have reached ninth place in the Serie A table, level on points with Bologna in eighth, although they have picked up eight points fewer than they had done at the same stage of last season.

Away from the league, however, Fiorentina have reached the final of the Coppa Italia for the first time since 2014 and after defeating Lech Poznan 6-4 on aggregate, are now also in the semi-final of the UEFA Conference League.

Across the three competitions, Cabral has chipped in with 14 goals from 40 appearances, plus an additional goal in one of Fiorentina’s two qualifying games to reach the Conference League finals.
