Juventus are sweating over Athur Melo’s fitness, as the Brazilian could still have to go through surgery to fix a tibia and fibula problem.

La Gazzetta dello Sport reports the Brazilian midfielder is already training in Spain and is ready to meet with the Juventus team on July 14.

But the former Barcelona player struggled with a physical problem during the second half of 2020-21 and the newspaper claims the issue has not been solved.

Arthur struggled with a painful calcification between the tibia and fibula, but decided against surgery, also hoping to play in the Copa America this summer.

If the pain comes back, the Old Lady and the player must consider an operation, with the hope of returning to the pitch in a couple of months.

Arthur arrived at Juventus last summer in an exchange deal including Miralem Pjanic and the 24-year-old has played 32 competitive games with the Bianconeri, scoring once against Bologna in a 2-0 win at the Allianz Stadium on January 24.
