Arsenal coach Mikel Arteta admits the Gunners are trying to sign Dusan Vlahovic and Arthur but doesn’t know if they will succeed.

The former midfielder faced the media after yesterday’s 0-0 draw against Burnley at the Emirates Stadium.

Arthur and Vlahovic are among the Gunners’ targets and the Premier League side has been negotiating with Fiorentina and Juventus for several weeks.

“We are certainly trying, but I don’t know if we will be able to do it, it’s not only our intention, but a lot of facts need to happen,” Arteta said at a post-match press conference.

“The market is difficult and complicated. It’s a lot of money and we need to make the right decisions with the players that we believe are going to really help us and take us to the next level.”

Arthur has already agreed personal terms with Arsenal over a loan move, but Juventus won’t let the Brazilian leave until they have found a replacement.

They also want Arsenal to include an option to buy in the deal.

On the other hand, Vlahovic doesn’t want to move to North London in the January transfer window and is reportedly waiting for the end of the season before picking his next club.

However, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the 21-year-old would be open to joining Juventus in the winter transfer window and has already reached an agreement with the Serie A giants.

Why are Arsenal struggling to sign Arthur and Vlahovic?
