Mikel Arteta has reportedly identified Milan loanee Charles De Ketelaere as an interesting target for Arsenal ahead of the summer transfer window.

The 23-year-old Belgian talent struggled to settle in Serie A in his debut season with the Rossoneri but has found a new lease of life in Bergamo under Gian Piero Gasperini, scoring 10 goals and providing seven assists in 33 games across all competitions.

De Ketelaere joined Atalanta from Milan last summer on a season-long loan deal with a €26m total  buy option attached, with a future resale clause also included. This will likely be activated ahead of the summer transfer window.

Fichajes via Caught Offside details how Arteta believes De Ketelaere is a ‘valuable’ player who could ‘make the difference’ at Arsenal, keeping a close eye on the talented Belgian ahead of the summer transfer window.

Manchester United have also been linked with a move for the 23-year-old, who would seemingly be a good fit for Arteta’s system in North London.

Arsenal currently sit top of the Premier League table after 28 games, tied on points with Liverpool and one ahead of Manchester City.

  1. Need players that can perform at international level against top opposition, not sure that this player can add anything more than what Arsenal already have.
