Arsenal defender Gabriel is quickly becoming the most likely option for Juventus, largely because Kalidou Koulibaly and Gleison Bremer are heading elsewhere, while Benoit Badiashile of Monaco is possible.
The Bianconeri are seeking reinforcements after Bayern Munich started face-to-face negotiations for Matthijs de Ligt today.
However, Max Allegri’s list of potential replacements is getting whittled down by outside forces.
If Koulibaly was to leave Napoli, it would be to go abroad and not to join his side’s arch-rivals within Serie A, making Chelsea the favourites.
Sportitalia and Sky Sport Italia both therefore point to Gabriel as the most likely candidate for Juventus, although here too it would be a very expensive signing at €40m.
The 24-year-old Brazilian was signed from LOSC for €26m in September 2020 and is under contract with the Gunners until 2025.
Gabriel also has an eye for goal, finding the net five times in 35 Premier League appearances last season.
Another option has emerged today, AS Monaco talent Benoit Badiashile, but the 21-year-old is not yet a full France international and already has an asking price of €30m.
