According to BBC Sport, Roma have seen a €15m offer for Swiss international Granit Xhaka rejected by Arsenal.

The proposal was believed to be worth €15m (circa £12.9m), already more than the Giallorossi had previously proposed, which was €12m plus bonuses.

It remains to be seen how much more Roma are prepared to put forward, as Sky Sport Italia report Xhaka is pressuring Arsenal to let him leave.

New Giallorossi coach Jose Mourinho has specifically requested Xhaka for his squad at the Stadio Olimpico.

Xhaka turns 29 in September and his contract with the Gunners runs to June 2023.

He is expected to start for Switzerland against Italy at Euro 2020 tomorrow evening at the Stadio Olimpico, which is where Roma play their club football.

The player contributed one goal and two assists for Arsenal in 45 competitive appearances this season.

Xhaka is the captain of Switzerland, with 12 goals in 95 senior caps, and today unveiled a new blond hairstyle.
