Gianluca Scamacca has long been destined for the jump to a big club this summer and Inter looked the likely destination, but now Arsenal have submitted an offer for the 23-year-old.

The Italian forward had a great season with Sassuolo this campaign, netting 16 goals in 36 Serie A appearances. He looks set to become Italy’s number nine for the future, replacing the often-disappointing Ciro Immobile in the starting lineup. Scamacca’s performance in the 1-1 draw with Germany yesterday was positive and he looks ready to make the next step in his career.

As reported by Calciomercato.com, Scamacca has had an informal agreement with Inter for some time now regarding a move, but the deal is currently on stand-by due to the Paulo Dybala and Romelu Lukaku situations. In this moment of hesitation, Arsenal have leapt in, submitting a €35m offer.

Whilst it is a convincing offer, it’s not enough to convince Sassuolo president Giovanni Carnevali, who is aiming for at least €40m plus add-ons.

Developments are expected soon and there’s a serious chance that Arsenal could beat Inter to the punch, with both the Dybala and Lukaku situations dragging on slowly.

  1. Another Italian agent and player using Arsenal as a bargaining chip to get a better deal from an Italian club. After Locatelli and Vlahovic, the Gunners should learn and quickly move on to someone who is actually willing to move to England…

  2. Jack, it’s not that they don’t wanna move to England it’s they don’t wanna play for Arsenal, hahahahaha
Speaks volumes with the state of Italian football and Serie A for a player to not want to leave coz Arsenal is the only team willing to buy must be absolutely soul destroying!
Arteta is doing great he must have what 15 years left on his contract?
