Arsenal have welcomed captain Martin Odegaard back to full training on the eve of their Champions League match away against Inter on Wednesday evening, but the Gunners still have a handful of longer-term absentees.
Latest Arsenal injury news ahead of Inter in Champions League
Arsenal have confirmed that Odegaard is back in full training with Mikel Arteta’s first-team squad. The 25-year-old picked up an ankle injury while away on international duty with Norway in September and has missed the last 12 matches on Arsenal’s calendar.
He returned to training on Tuesday and could be involved with the matchday squad in San Siro, but it remains to be see how long he is ready to play for, if at all.
Bukayo Saka is also expected to be available as usual after his recent injury concerns, as he played the full 90 minutes in the 1-0 loss to Sandro Tonali’s Newcastle United on Saturday.
Italy international Riccardo Calafiori, however, remains out after picking up a concerning knee injury in Arsenal’s Champions League win against Shakhtar Donetsk last time out in the competition. He is poised to return to action after the upcoming international break.
Former Bologna defender Takehiro Tomiyasu remains out with a knee injury of his own, while left-back Kieran Tierney is not expected to be involved with the squad against Inter either.
