There are reports that Arsenal have been in contact with the entourage of Lazio midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, who is also linked with Juventus and Chelsea.

The Serbia international is only under contract until June 2024 and negotiations for an extension seem to have hit problems.

A summer exit is likely after years of transfer rumours that he always resisted, but running down the contract will also lower the asking price from over €100m to circa €40-50m.

Juventus had been the runaway favourites, but the investigation into their finances by the Turin public prosecutor, the FIGC and UEFA all made that a bit more difficult.

According to Relevo in Spain, Arsenal have been in talks with Milinkovic-Savic’s entourage to convince him that London would be the right option for him.

Chelsea are also known to be interested, although he is not their primary choice in that role.

The 27-year-old has been at Lazio since leaving KRC Genk in the summer of 2015 and so far this season he has five goals and seven assists in 20 competitive appearances for the Biancocelesti.
