Just as Atalanta started to think Ademola Lookman would remain without a firm PSG offer, Sportitalia report Arsenal are ready for a swoop worth €50m with Jakub Kiwior as part of the deal.

Lookman played in the UEFA Super Cup against Real Madrid last Wednesday, then asked to be left out of the squad for the Serie A opener on Monday against Lecce.

This was because his agent received an approach from Paris Saint-Germain, though it did not progress into a genuine proposal.

The Nigeria international was not in training today either and Sportitalia transfer expert Alfredo Pedullà insists that it is because he refused to participate.

Arsenal in for Lookman

He claims another club has come in for the winger, this time Arsenal with a bid worth €50m plus bonuses, although Kiwior could be included to lower the fee, possibly even on loan with option to buy.

Liverpool are also said to be keeping an eye on the situation and Lookman is eager for a Premier League move, also because he was born in London.

Atalanta are still hoping to keep the 26-year-old and are prepared to double his current wages after he scored 17 goals with 10 assists in 45 competitive games last season.

  1. Understandable that he wants to cash in for himself in this high moment but it’s always a shame to see a player force their way out of a club that contributed so significantly to their development.

  2. Well said b. It also has me disliking such players even more as such actions are not that of an honorable dedicated team player. It disrespects the team. Selfishness comes to mind.
