Jorginho has less than a year left on his contract with Arsenal but seems set to stay in North London for another season at least, reports suggest.

The 31-year-old Italian-Brazilian midfielder joined the Gunners from Chelsea last January in a deal worth around €11.3m, adding an experienced winner to Mikel Arteta’s squad. He penned an 18-month contract with an option for an extra year.

Jorginho has featured regularly under Arteta this season, seeing 723 minutes across 15 total appearances. He has worn the captain’s armband on three occasions and has proven himself a useful figure in the Arsenal squad.

As reported by Mundo Deportivo via TMW, Arteta and Arsenal have been happy with Jorginho’s work since his arrival and plan to activate the one-year extension clause attached to his contract, extending his stay to June 2025.

The 31-year-old recently returned to the Italy national team, starting in the Euro 2024 qualifiers against North Macedonia and Ukraine this month.
