Arsenal have reportedly proposed the idea of sending Takehiro Tomiyasu to Inter in exchange for Denzel Dumfries.

The Nerazzurri are aware that they’ll have to cash in on a first team player in the coming months in order to help alleviate their financial concerns, an issue they faced last year when Romelu Lukaku and Achraf Hakimi were sold.

Dumfries has seemingly been Inter’s choice for a while now and his impressive performance against the United States at the World Cup saw him attract attention across Europe, with Premier League sides Chelsea and Manchester United particularly keen.

As reported by Caught Offside, Arsenal also emerged to explore a deal for Dumfries and offered Inter a swap deal involving Tomiyasu, who has struggled for consistent minutes this season under Mikel Arteta.

Whilst an intriguing idea, the Nerazzurri are not interested in accepting the proposal, making it clear that only pure cash offers will be considered. The club are hoping to pick up around €50-60m from the Dutchman’s sale, figures the Gunners are unlikely to invest considering their need for a new striker.
