There are reports Juventus midfielder Arthur Melo’s agent was spotted going into the Arsenal headquarters in London today, as the Bianconeri identify a low-cost alternative.

According to Goal.com, face-to-face negotiations took place on Wednesday afternoon when technical director of the Premier League club Edu hosted agent Federico Pastorello at the Colney training ground.

Arthur was signed from Barcelona in an exchange deal with Miralem Pjanic that put a transfer value on the Brazilian of €76m.

The 25-year-old would be allowed to leave Juve on loan in January if certain conditions are met.

It’s reported those include an 18-month loan rather than six months and his full salary covered by Arsenal.

There could also be an option to buy included as part of the deal.

Meanwhile, Sky Sport Italia report Juventus have found Arthur’s replacement and he is already on their books.

That is because the Bianconeri signed Nicolò Rovella from Genoa over the summer for €23m and left him on loan at Marassi for the rest of the season.

The plan is to recall the 20-year-old six months early and get him straight into the thick of things with Juve.

Rovella has been impressive this term, but is just coming off a serious thigh injury and needs in-depth medical tests before the move is given the all-clear.
