Arsenal are working hard to secure a deal for Bologna talent Aaron Hickey as they look to give Mikel Arteta a new full back.
Gunners coach Arteta and technical director Edu Gaspar have been keeping a close eye on the 19-year-old Scottish full back, who is continuing to impress under Sinisa Mihajlovic. Contracted to the Rossoblu until 2024, he seems destined for the jump to a big club in the summer.
As reported by Football.London, Arsenal are working hard to line up a deal for Hickey and they’re fairly happy with Bologna’s €20m valuation. The North London side are now set to return in a few weeks with a concrete offer, ready to pick him up once the transfer window opens.
The 19-year-old Hickey, who joined Bologna in 2020 from Heart of Midlothian, has made 33 Serie A appearances so far this season, for a total of 2650 minutes. In that time, he’s scored five goals and provided one assist.
