Conte trending on Twitter after Arsenal’s 5-0 loss to City

Arsenal fans and pundits are calling for former Inter coach Antonio Conte to replace Mikel Arteta at the Gunners after a 5-0 defeat to Manchester City in the Premier League.

The tough start to the new campaign continued when Arsenal suffered back-to-back defeats when the Citizens secured a massive 5-0 win at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday.

Arteta’s position at the club is under pressure and on Twitter, fans are calling for Conte’s return to England.

The Italian coach is, according to The Telegraph, one of the candidates the Arsenal board are considering in case Arteta is sacked from the position at the Emirates Stadium.

Conte emerges as potential candidate to replace Arteta at Arsenal

Conte previously told La Gazzetta dello Sport that he enjoys ‘a challenge’ and that the ‘top clubs I coached were never the favourites when I arrived’.

The 52-year-old coach left Inter after securing the Scudetto in 2021-22 and the former Juventus and Italy tactician’s name is now trending on Twitter.

Conte won the Premier League and the FA Cup during his two years with Chelsea in the English capital.

The reports in Italy claimed Conte has signed a clause when leaving the Nerazzurri by mutual consent after 2020-21, barring the coach from signing for another Serie A club in the near future.
