Arsenal have decided to make a move for Hellas Verona talent Giovanni Simeone, providing competition to the interested Juventus.

The 26-year-old Argentinian forward is expected to be permanently signed by the Gialloblu in the coming days for just over €10m from Cagliari. The plan is to then sell the player onwards, with a number of clubs keen to pick him up this summer.

As reported by TuttoMercatoWeb, Juventus have been considering a move for Simeone for days now and have requested information about the player. Whilst there’s plenty of competition from Spain and Germany, they’ll now have to fight off Arsenal as well if they want to secure his signature.

The first step is for Hellas Verona to activate the buy option linked to his loan deal. Once that’s done, a top club is expected to pay around €20m to sign him this summer.

The 26-year-old Simeone scored 17 goals and provided six assists in 36 Serie A appearances this season.
