According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Jakub Kiwior is Milan‘s top defensive target for the January transfer window and Mikel Arteta won’t stand against the departure of the Poland international.

Milan are expected to sign a new central defender in the winter transfer window to boost Stefano Pioli’s options. Currently, Fikayo Tomori is the only fit centre-back at Milanello, with Malick Thiaw, Simon Kjaer, Mattia Caldara, Marco Pellegrino and Pierre Kalulu all injured.

According to Gazzetta, Arsenal’s Kiwior, a former Spezia defender, will be the Rossoneri’s main target in January.

The pink paper claims Milan will keep a ‘low profile’ trying to get the Polish centre-back on loan with an option to buy. Arsenal coach Arteta is said to be ready to let the defender leave, as Kiwior has only played 478 minutes across all competitions with the Gunners this term.

Milan will also be looking for a new striker and Gazzetta confirms Lille’s Jonathan David will be their number one target next month.

The Rossoneri will partially finance their winter purchases through the sale of Rade Krunic who is wanted by Fenerbahce.
