Milan face strong competition from Arsenal in the race for RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko, according to Telegraph Sport.

The tall centre-forward had emerged over the last couple of weeks as the first choice for the Rossoneri, especially if Joshua Zirkzee of Bologna was instead heading towards Arsenal.

However, the Gunners are now also leading the battle for Sesko after meeting with his agents, echoing the encounter already had with Milan chiefs last week.

Sesko clause a problem for Milan

There is a release clause in his contract that rises based on performance, so has gone from €50m to €60m and can go as high as €73m.

While Milan were hoping to get in there early and lay the groundwork so they could negotiate a €50m deal, Arsenal would not be troubled by paying the entire release clause.

Sesko turns 21 later this month and has 11 goals in 27 senior caps for Slovakia.

At club level, he has 17 goals and two assists in 41 appearances for RB Leipzig so far this season.

Other clubs linked with the hitman include Manchester United and Chelsea.
