Inter are reportedly asking for over €22m after Arsenal made an approach for versatile defender Federico Dimarco.

According to Sun Sport, the Gunners have shown an interest in the 24-year-old, who only recently signed a new contract to June 2026.

Dimarco is primarily a left-back, but for Inter and before that Hellas Verona has regularly played on the left side of a five-man midfield.

He has also been used in the centre-back roles in recent weeks and is a free kick specialist, contributing two goals and five assists in 42 competitive games this season.

It would take quite something to convince Dimarco to leave San Siro, as he was born and bred within the Inter youth academy and is appreciated by fans as a passionate supporter himself.

He returned to Inter in 2021 after loan spells with Ascoli, Empoli, FC Sion, Parma and Verona.

The Sun newspaper claim that Arsenal see Dimarco as a potential deputy to injured Kiernan Tierney, but would not pay over €20m for a player who is considered little more than a back-up.

  1. Tell you what, we’ll throw in Gabbiadini (Gagliardini for those not in on the joke) and you can have both for just 30m pounds.

  2. Arsenal paid 25m for that woeful and crocked Scottish fella, and they won’t pay 20m for Dimarco who is twice the player? They’ve got Tavares on that side too. how many left backs do you need? unless he will challenge Martinelli further up?
