Down to the last six months of his Chelsea contract, there are reports Arsenal have made an offer for Italy international midfielder Jorginho.

The EURO 2020 winner just turned 31 last month and moved to Stamford Bridge for his then-Napoli coach Maurizio Sarri in the summer of 2018 in a deal worth €57m plus add-ons.

He has been linked with a return to Serie A many times, above all for Juventus, Milan, Napoli and Sarri’s Lazio.

However, Sky Sport Italia transfer expert Fabrizio Romano claims this evening that Arsenal have made an approach for Jorginho after missing out on several other targets in the January window.

His contract only runs to June 30, but nonetheless it is reported that Chelsea will want a fairly large fee to let him leave six months early.

It is also not out of the question that he could sign a new contract to remain with the Blues, although he has dropped down the pecking order recently under Graham Potter.
