Arsenal representatives were reportedly spotted at the Stadio Artemio Franchi on Monday to watch Fiorentina talent Michael Kayode.
Fiorenzeviola and Corriere dello Sport journalist Andrea Giannattasio reports Arsenal scouted the 19-year-old during Fiorentina’s 3-0 win over Cagliari on Monday. Italy coach Luciano Spalletti also watched Kayode in action at the Stadio Franchi on Monday night.
Kayode, 19, is climbing Vincenzo Italiano’s pecking order and is expected to get even more playing time now that Brazilian left-back Dodo suffered a severe knee injury.
According to the report, more foreign clubs scouted the Fiorentina full-back in his latest Serie A appearance. Despite interest from many clubs, the Tuscans are reportedly working on the defender’s contract extension.
His current deal runs out in June 2025, but Fiorentina have an option to renew until 2026. Nevertheless, the Tuscans are expected to sit down with the player’s entourage and offer the 19-year-old a new contract with a pay rise.
According to Firenzeviola, Kayode currently gets €30,000 per year at the Stadio Franchi.
