Juventus CEO Maurizio Arrivabene said the ‘team must take responsibility’ after Cristiano Ronaldo’s farewell and revealed the Bianconeri will continue to ‘make careful choices in the future’.

The Viola striker Dusan Vlahovic has been linked with a move to the Bianconeri, who are struggling to replace Ronaldo’s goals.

The Portugal captain bagged 101 goals during his three years in Turin and Arrivabene claimed coach Max Allegri is currently ‘working on the lack of taking responsibility’ in the current squad.

Juventus and Man City call Vlahovic’s agent

“The Cristiano Ronaldo operation has brought benefits, from a sporting and image point of view, not only for Juventus, but also for Italian football,” Arrivabene said at a press conference. “His presence has guaranteed an important asset to the whole system.

“With his departure, other scenarios open up, a great champion has left and the question is: what are the effects on the team?

“In his absence, there are those who score anyway and should score anyway, look at [Karim] Benzema at Real Madrid.

“The real lack is taking responsibility and the coach is working on this, the team must recharge this responsibility and work as a team.”

The Juventus shareholders criticised the business on the transfer market in recent years, but Arrivabene pointed at a difficult financial time.

“Regarding the criticism of the market, I say that the financial situation was forgotten very quickly: careful choices were made in the summer, and it will be the same in the future.

“We need sustainable growth, which means making the accounts more efficient and staying competitive.

“This balance is not always easy but it’s what we want to do, it being understood that this balance works from the moment you win.”

  1. It’s what we need to get off the roster that will improve the team ! Time to boot out Ramsey, then Rabiot and get younger with Rovella and Fagioli in the mid no investment required. Recall Dragusin and get rid of Rugani if he’s not gonna play !! Give Kaio Jorge the spotlight and start looking to replace Morata …..

  2. lol my memories of him are from Ferrari, I wonder how he will do at Juve. He’s certainly getting around, at any rate.

  3. I think you are right Cypher. If you notice Real, P$G, Bayern, Chelsea etc are not looking at him. Even Inter have cooled off. If I were Fiorentina I would sell him to Juve even if their fans would hate it yet again, but they could get an inflated price and yes he could be the next Morata given the coach is Lord Allegri Master Of The Seven Seas.
