Arrivabene: ‘Juventus have absolute faith in Allegri’

Juventus CEO Maurizio Arrivabene confirms ‘absolute faith’ in coach Max Allegri and insists the biggest issue is rediscovering ‘the spirit of Juventus’ in this team.

The Bianconeri are feeling the pressure after a dismal start to the campaign, both in Serie A and the Champions League.

“There’s no point denying this is a very important match,” Arrivabene told Sky Sport Italia.

“There is only one result that would do us any good and that is the victory.”

Fans have pin-pointed Allegri as the figure they want fired and who they blame for the disastrous season so far, but the directors have repeatedly backed their coach.

“I said many times, we must avoid emotional decisions. It is important to analyse problems one at a time and together find solutions.

“Seeking someone to blame at all costs right now would be a mistake for the club and for the future matches. We have absolute faith in Allegri.

“Tonight is the most important match, undoubtedly. This weekend we have Torino in the Derby della Mole, but we have to take it one game at a time, rediscover the spirit that Juventus need to have, which is to win.”

Arrivabene was asked by Alessandro Del Piero, a pundit for Sky Sport Italia, just how much are Juventus trying to just get through to the November break for the World Cup so they can practically start from scratch?

“We need to get over this moment, that is true. Every game from now on is fundamental, but above all it is fundamental that we rediscover the spirit of Juventus.

“Missing Pogba and Chiesa is a big problem, but it must not be in our DNA to just hang on and wait for the break. No. We must push all the way until the break.”
