Serie A LIVE: Bologna vs. Juventus

This week, the Turin giants announced the increase in Capital after options were taken up, boosting the club coffers by €366m.

“I think it is important to clarify a few things, which is that the increase in Capital showed the shareholders have faith in the club’s plans to relaunch and resolve our issues,” Arrivabene told DAZN.

“However, I want to make it very clear that this is to bring stability to the club accounts, it is absolutely not a financial operation so we can make some big splash on the transfer market.

“If anyone is expecting some coup de theatre in January, they can forget it. This club has been hit hard by two years of COVID and we are focused on relaunch, reflecting and evaluating so we can then do what the economic situation allows us to do.”

Juve have been linked with several strikers in the January transfer window, including PSG hitman Mauro Icardi and Manchester United’s Anthony Martial.

  1. CR7 ruined your club. Arriva bene Arrivabene. A former Ferrari director with no experience in football, what can go wrong?

    Now please renew Nedved next.

  2. No signing no champions league next year, and no next phase this year, that’s over 200M loses to save your as s 120M on 2 players. What a business man

  3. It is no surprise to me as they cannot buy until they sell. The issue is they have stockpiled too much scrap metal that nobody else wants to buy. It has been like this for 3 years. Take Flimsay as an example. He will not terminate his contract by mutual consent. No club wants to pick up his tab and injury record.

It happens from time to time that clubs can miss out on the CL. Exor will just inject some money to prop up a sinking ship. The issue will be selling off the best assets such as De Ligt. Even Chiesa’s loan deal could be in jeopardy. A bigger club could interject as they can offer him CL and better prospects in terms of money as well as silverware.

The term “Pazza” Inter is more familiar with Juventus now. Inter have become Juve in terms of decision making by bringing in Marotta. Easily their best move, getting a man that knows the market from selling to buying prudently.

Arrivabene is the second coming of Jean Claude Blanc. He is not a football man and he made Ferrari irrelevant in F1.

Football comes in cycles and this is the Inter era. Juventus will rise once again but probably going to take 3-5 years.

  4. What is the upside of Arrivabene? He was going to be the savior of Ferrari. That didn’t work. I think he is a glorified Marlboro salesman.
