Aronica recently declared a desire to renew his current deal that expires this summer and Di Marzio believes that representative Alessandro Moggi is close to agreeing a one-year extension with sporting director Bigon, with the option for a second year also inserted.

Giovanni Aronica confirmed that where his son had held discussions with other clubs in light of anxiety about his soon-to-expire Napoli contract, his first choice is to remain with the Partenopei and that more recently, President Aurelio De Laurentiis had offered a new deal.
