Former defender Salvatore Aronica says “Palermo should be worried” and slams President Maurizio Zamparini.
The Rosanero made their eighth change of the season on the bench this week, as Walter Novellino replaced Beppe Iachini.
Iachini had only been back for two games after his sacking earlier in the season, but resigned after Zamparini attacked him repeatedly in public, including calling the Coach “an idiot”.
“Palermo should be worried,” Aronica said on Radio Punto Zero.
“Even when I arrived in 2013 there was the same situation with Coaches. Zamparini is going all-out to relegate them.
“I know the President, he wanted me at Palermo and gave me a big, long contract, then froze me out of the squad after six months because I was old.
“He’s a temperamental person, he doesn’t take time to reflect when the results aren’t coming.
“Iachini was right, with all due respect, no-one can call you an idiot in public. The players are confused and penalised by all these changes.”
