Marko Arnautovic wants to leave West Ham United and “win a few trophies. Why not return to Italy? He could prove that Inter weren’t wrong to bet on him.”

The 29-year-old Austria international has impressed since a €22m move from Stoke City to West Ham 18 months ago, so far this season scoring five Premier League goals in 10 games.

“He is ready for the next step in his career,” brother and agent Daniel Arnautovic told GianlucaDiMarzio.com.

“He is ready for the next step in his career,” brother and agent Daniel Arnautovic told GianlucaDiMarzio.com.

“It’s not that he really wants to leave, but we believe this is the moment in his career when he has to take a step forward and try to win a few trophies, maybe even the Champions League. The statistics show what he can do.”

There was already a brief spell at Inter in 2009-10, on loan from FC Twente, but he made only three appearances for a grand total of 55 minutes of football.

Nonetheless, that hasn’t put him off playing in Serie A.

“Why not a return to Italy? He could prove that Inter weren’t wrong to bet on him. He was only 19 years old when he joined Inter and left behind many good friends there, along with fond memories of Milan.

“There are many Premier League clubs tracking him, for example Chelsea and Everton, but not only them.”

Inter had already shown interest in a reunion with Arnautovic over the summer.
