Marko Arnautovic called his debut win with Inter ‘very important’ and underlined his goals with his new club.

The 34-year-old Austrian striker returned to the Nerazzurri 13 years after his first brief spell, joining the club on a loan deal with a conditional obligation to buy clause attached from Bologna.

Arnautovic came off the bench to make his second Inter debut against Monza last week, providing an assist for Lautaro Martinez’s 76th minute goal.

Speaking to Sport Mediaset via TMW, Arnautovic first discussed how it feels to return to Inter.

“Winning the first game was very important, I’m very happy to be back and already when I entered the San Siro I felt a strong feeling, I was already excited when I arrived at the stadium.”

He was asked where he wants to take this Nerazzurri side.

“When you’re at Inter you have to win, it’s important to fight for the second star, I want to help on and off the pitch.”

He touched on any personal goals he has in the Lombardy capital.

“I don’t have a minimum goal target to score, I never impose it on myself and even more so after only one game played.

“I want to help the team with assists or goals, which is even better since a striker always wants to score goals, but making predictions… no.”

Arnautovic discussed his relationship with Lautaro.

“Lautaro is very strong, he is our captain. We have to help him as well as the whole team, when you are united and everyone helps each other you always have a good season.”

He touched on what Simone Inzaghi has asked of him.

“Nothing strange, the coach asks me to give everything in every game and go a thousand in training. Here I have a great relationship with everyone, then the pitch counts, that’s where the difference has to be made.”

The 34-year-old was asked if it was his dream to win another Treble with the club.

“First of all the Scudetto, we’ll fight for the second star. The Treble… it’s not easy. Even thirteen years ago no one believed in it at the start of the season, you never know.

“But it’s not easy, you have to do a lot, I can’t say at the start of the season where we’ll arrive. It would be a dream for all of us players and for the club.”

Finally, Arnautovic identified which team is their biggest rivals for the Scudetto.

“The first rival is always Milan, in Milan there is one of the biggest derbies in the world. In this market they have strengthened the team, but we are not afraid of anyone.”
