Marko Arnautovic has no regrets about his failed move to Manchester United and Sinisa Mihajlovic insists Bologna‘s market ‘is not over.’

The Austria international had been targeted by the Red Devils who saw an €8m bid rejected less than two weeks ago.

Erik ten Hag had worked with Arnautovic at Twente and reportedly wanted to reunite with the Bologna forward at Old Trafford. However, the Red Devils refused to make an improved bid and are now looking for a new target for the attack.

Arnautovic is ready to start his second season at the Stadio Dall’Ara and is likely to start against Lazio tomorrow.

“The market is the market,” Arnautovic said at a press conference today.

“I’ve been in the world of football for many years and I know there could be clubs interested during the transfer window, but now I am focused on Bologna.”

Sinisa Mihajlovic also spoke to the media today, on the eve of tomorrow’s meeting with Maurizio Sarri’s side at the Stadio Olimpico.

“It won’t be easy but the first games of the season are always strange,” he said. “We must be fearless and aware of Lazio’s strengths and weaknesses.”

Bologna sold Aaron Hickey and Mattias Svanberg this summer and the ex-defender expects reinforcements before the end of the transfer window.

“The transfer window is not over, we must have faith in the club. I am sure they’d do anything to make the team stronger and more competitive. We know we must replace some players, but we’ll discuss this at the end [of the market].”
