Inter are trying to sell Joao Mario to West Ham United in a part-exchange deal with Marko Arnautovic, it’s reported.

It would be a return to San Siro for the Austria international striker, who had a very disappointing loan period at Inter from FC Twente in 2009-10.

He ended up moving from Stoke City to West Ham for €22.3m last summer and scored 11 goals with eight assists in 35 competitive games.

According to Sky Sport Italia and MercatoRetweettato, Arnautovic’s brother – who also acts as his agent – was in the Inter headquarters this afternoon.

West Ham are eager to make Joao Mario’s loan permanent and Inter need to cash in, having paid €40m for the Portuguese midfielder.
