Marko Arnautovic said he is ‘very happy’ to be at Bologna and claimed he will be ready to play against Pordenone on Sunday.

The former Inter forward has moved from Shanghai SIPG to Bologna and has a past at West Ham United, Stoke City, Werder Bremen and FC Twente.

The 32-year-old has signed a two-year deal with the Rossoblu and is expected to play an important role at the Renato Dall’Ara this term.

“First of all, I want to thank the club, in particular [Claudio] Fenucci and [Walter] Sabatini, as well as the people who made this transfer possible,” Arnautovic said at a press conference.

“The first contacts took place six months ago and after these months I’m finally here. Bologna gave me back the desire to play football.

“We also spoke with the coach, and they immediately showed me their desire to get me. I’m very happy to be here.”

The Austria international arrives after his participation at the Euros this summer but believes he will soon be ready to make an impact at the Rossoblu.

“On Sunday, against Pordenone, I can play my first minutes,” he said. “The match against Liverpool [on Thursday] is too early.

“I only had one training session with the team and I still have to work to reach the same conditions and be ready for the Coppa Italia match.”
