Marko Arnautovic has been linked with Juventus, but the Bologna striker’s agent called it ‘fake news.’
The front page of today’s edition of Tuttosport claimed that Arnautovic was the latest target to act as back-up to Dusan Vlahovic and provide something different in terms of characteristics for Max Allegri’s squad.
The Austria international had his best ever season, scoring 14 Serie A goals in 33 matches.
However, the 33-year-old’s agent and brother Danijel Arnautovic shrugged off the Juventus speculation.
“I don’t know where these stories come from or who talks to the media, but I can say there’s nothing in it. This is just fake news,” he told MadeInBo Radio TV.
“When Marko returned to Italy, many people thought he wasn’t ready and that after a period playing in China that he couldn’t make the difference.
“However, he proved he’s still a top player with great performances and that’s what sparked all the speculation. Believe me, there’s nothing with any other club, and if I don’t know about it, then nobody does.
“Nothing is impossible, but as of now we have not been contacted by anybody and we are not ready to sign for another club. Marko is a Bologna player.”
Arnautovic joined from Shanghai SIPG in the summer of 2021 and is under contract at the Stadio Dall’Ara until June 2024, along with an option to renew for an extra season after that.
He has 100 senior caps for Austria, scoring 33 goals.
