Argentina won the World Cup for the first time since 1986 and fans gathered to celebrate in front of Diego Armando Maradona’s mural in Naples.

Lionel Messi lifted the trophy in Qatar after a dramatic 3-3 draw with France and penalty shoot-out.

It ended a 36-year wait for the World Cup, so Argentines united with Napoli supporters to celebrate at the foot of the iconic Maradona mural in the Quartieri Spagnoli neighbourhood.

They chanted Maradona’s song while fireworks and flares went off, honouring the legend who died in November 2020.
