Argentina had a short layover at Rome’s Fiumicino Airport before continuing their flight to Buenos Aires.

The newly-crowned World Cup champions stopped for less than one hour in Italy after leaving Qatar this morning. As reported by Gazzetta, Argentineans landed at Rome’s Fiumicino Airport at 14.30 local time (13.30 GMT), resuming their trip one hour later.

It will take circa 14 hours to get to the Argentinean capital from Rome.

La Repubblica reported that Pope Francis, who is Argentinean, could have met the team during their short stay in Italy, but it is still unclear whether the meeting happened.

Four Serie A players won the World Cup on Sunday after an epic Final against France: Juventus‘ Angel Di Maria and Leandro Paredes, Inter‘s Lautaro Martinez and Roma‘s Paulo Dybala.

The Bianconeri are now the club with the most World Cup winners in history, 27, followed by Bayern Munich and Inter.

  1. I was born what are you on about? I was only a question when will italy win it again . I know more about italian than you ever will. I have been following it for over 30 years

  2. If you look on a globe it makes no sense for Argentina to stop at Rome. If you look at a flat Earth map, it’s obvious why they did. Wake up. The evidence is all around you. The earth is flat.

  3. Mike…you are the only one who pointed out the obvious…the earth is indeed flat and a layover in Rome helps prove that.
