Argentina have called up Mauro Icardi but left out Gonzalo Higuain for their upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Uruguay and Venezuela.

Icardi was among the new faces called by Jorge Sampaoli in May for his first Argentina squad, and the former Sevilla boss is sticking with the Inter striker.

Juve’s new No 10, Paulo Dybala is also among those selected, but there is no place for Higuain.

Icardi and Dybala are joined in the squad by Milan’s Lucas Biglia, although that appears subject to change following news of his injury.
