If Alphonse Areola leaves Paris Saint-Germain for Roma, then Gianluigi Donnarumma could join Gigi Buffon at Paris Saint-Germain.
According to Sky Sport Italia transfer guru Gianluca Di Marzio, agent Mino Raiola is planning a merry-go-round of goalkeepers.
He represents both Areola and Donnarumma, so is prepared to orchestrate a form of squad rotation.
Areola is emerging as the number one target for Roma to replace Alisson Becker, who is heading to Liverpool for €63m plus €10m in bonuses.
Meanwhile, Paris United point to interest in Areola from Chelsea and Sporting CP.
If that were to go through, then Raiola would encourage PSG to renew last summer’s offer to Donnarumma.
While Milan weren’t prepared to sell at the time, the situation has changed with Yonghong Li defaulting on his debt, allowing US hedge fund Elliott Management to repossess the club.
The Rossoneri were also excluded from Europe as a result of Financial Fair Play violations and need to balance the books.
Donnarumma is the ideal player to sell, as he came up through their youth academy and is therefore pure profit, while they already signed replacement Pepe Reina as a free agent from Napoli.
A move to Paris Saint-Germain would also allow Donnarumma to learn directly from his Italy predecessor Buffon.
According to Sportitalia, Raiola had tried to propose Donnarumma directly to Roma, but they rejected the move due to his wage demands.
