Alberto Aquilani has made it clear that he is not at Pescara to wind down his career. “I want to get my game back and help the team stay up.”
Aquilani has played just 121 minutes of football for Pescara since arriving from Sporting CP over the summer, but he insists he has no qualms with Massimo Oddo’s decision to use him sparingly and will be ready whenever the opportunity arises.
“I’m fine. I understand that there’s a lot of expectation, but I also feel a lot of confidence and I’m happy,” he told CalcioNews24.

“I’m available to the Coach and if I didn’t play then it’s for the Coach’s choice, one that’s also shared with me for the good of the team.
“We must save ourselves and try to win because the points ultimately count and I’m confident. We must continue to follow the road we’ve taken.
“Survival? It’s not easy. It’s true that I’m used to fighting for other purposes, but I really wanted [to join Pescara] because I wanted to get myself back in the game.
“I want to show that I feel good and help the team stay up.
“We must stay balance, not get too excited if we win and not get too depressed in case of defeat.
“We’ve faced some very strong teams like Napoli, Inter, Sassuolo and Genoa, maybe the match against Chievo could’ve gone better.
“Stock must be taken at the end of the season, but I think we’ve mastered the basics needed to do well and we’ll give everything to succeed.
“Do our lack of wins burden us on the pitch? Maybe because apart from our one win, a fair one because it came from an error, we haven’t seen a win on the pitch, but we mustn’t think about it, otherwise we’ll get sucked into a vortex, which isn’t any good.”
